Salvation

Salvation is God’s plan for all mankind.  God says in John 3:16 that He sent His Son to save the world.  God desires for no one to perish but for everyone to have eternal life.  The Bible is clear about how to obtain eternal life.  We must ask for the forgiveness of sins, and by faith, believe that God is able and willing to forgive us, save us, and give us eternal life.  He is able to do this because Jesus took on the sins of the world on the cross.  He arose from the dead after being buried, and He is able to raise us as well.  The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9 that we are saved by His grace (unmerited favor) when we place our faith in Him.  We receive this salvation when we ask for it in faith.  This same passage says that salvation is not something we can earn by good works.  Only God, through His Son Jesus, can give us this salvation.

John 3:1-21, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9

If you believe this and want to be saved, consider this:

  1. Admit you are a sinner in need of forgiveness.  Romans 3:23
  2. Turn from your sins.  The Bible describes this with the word, repent.  Romans 6:23
  3. Believe that Jesus took on your sins on the cross, paid the price for them, died, and rose again.  Romans 5:8
  4. Pray; ask Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your life.  Receive Him as Lord and Savior.  Romans 10:9-10

Dear God,

I know that I am a sinner.  I want to turn from my sins (repent).  Please forgive me; come into my life and save me.  I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as Lord for the rest of my life.  Please take me home to heaven when I die.

I pray this In Jesus Name, Amen.
